The AT&T breach is leaving nearly all its customers open to scams. If you are one of the affected customers, here are some things you should know so you can protect yourself:
- The hackers having the call and text logs make it easier for them to scam you using personal relationships
- If someone calls or texts you and asks you to do something, call them back to verify that it’s actually them
- Do not give out any financial or personal info unless you verify who you’re communicating with
- Be on guard about deepfakes
- Know that the hackers probably know your geolocation
