Back in July of 1976 Tina Turner and her then husband Ike Turner were set to kick off their tour here in Dallas. After suffering years of abuse from Ike it was here she decided to leave him. They were at the Statler Hotel and after he passed out she fled to the Lorenzo Hotel with only 36 cents. But she was finally safe and away from her abuser. There is an entire room filled with memorabilia dedicated to her. Check out the video to see it. Tina Turner...simply the best.
