Fox 4 Weather Reporter Saves Dallas Woman's Life During Flooding

A local weather reporter saved a woman from her car when she gets caught in a flash flood. FOX 4 weather reporter Robert Ray was reporting on the heavy rain in North Texas when he saw a car get caught in rising floodwaters near I-35 in downtown Dallas.

Shannon Murray of FOX 4 witnessed the event and says they pulled up just as the woman’s car began to sink into the deep floodwaters. “She couldn’t get out, couldn’t stop the vehicle,” Murray recalls. “She couldn’t see because it was dark and there were no barricades.” But then Ray ran to the car and helped the woman escape through the car’s passenger window. Ray then carried the woman through the waist-high water to safety.

Nearly eight inches of rain inundated parts of the city that day. Reportedly, Dallas Fire-Rescue had to respond to hundreds of high water incidents and perform more than three dozen water rescues.
