DNA Test Reunites Long-Lost Siblings At Cook Children's Hospital

Long-lost siblings reunite after taking DNA tests and realize they had been at the same hospital at the same time many times over several years. In 2015, Raymond Turner moved from Houston to Fort Worth and started a new job running an audio recording studio inside of Cook Children's Hospital. That same year, Christina Sadberry’s son Bryson began receiving regular treatments at the hospital.

For Christmas of 2021, Raymond’s wife, Maria, bought him a DNA test because he was curious about his ancestry. When he received the results, it indicated that he had a sibling he’d never met named Christina Sadberry. When he didn’t get a response from Christina through the DNA company’s website, Maria tracked her down on social media and messaged her. Christina got the message and saw a picture of Raymond online. “Wait, your husband works at Cook Children’s?” she asked Maria. “Was he wearing a red shirt today?”

For years, Raymond and Christina had likely been passing each other in the hallways of Cook Children’s and never knew that they were half-siblings. They soon met up in person and both say that they instantly felt a connection. “It felt like home,” explains Raymond. “It was like I was hugging the sister I had known all my life.” Since meeting, the siblings are in constant contact and plan to get their whole families together for their first family Thanksgiving this fall.
