Need Firewood, Water, Food? Local Resources To Help You These Next Few Days

Man on man, these last few days have sucked so badly. We went without power like so many over the course of the winter storm. The short blips of power were wonderful and then the heartbreak when it shut off again. I can't help but hurt for my fellow North Texans as well as Texans. So many of us struggling.

Every North Texan I spoken to has expressed just how dire their situation was but also how grateful they were that it wasn't worse. Amen. If you're looking for help, I hope this info gets you some relief.

Free Firewood!

This is was really cool gesture from Gozova in Fort Worth. An upstart moving company trying to help folks in desperate need. If you have no power and make it out for supplies, get to their website and fill out their form. They want to make sure the most extreme needs are met first. If you have fire you would like to donate, drop them a line too. We are all working together to help.

Water!

If you can get to a Natural Grocers near you safely, they have filtered water. Bring your own jugs and bottles. Dont have any of those, the store sells some. The first 5 gallons are free and then its 25 cents for each after.

City of Fort Worth is linking up with 4 fire stations as water distribution sites. (courtesty of WFAA) they are..

  • Station 9, 2575 Polaris Drive
  • Station 31, 4209 Longstraw Drive
  • Station 37, 4721 Ray White Road, Keller, TX
  • Station 38, 13280 Park Vista Blvd.

Distribution is underway while supplies last.

Trinity Springs Middle School (Keller ISD), 3350 Keller Hicks Road in Fort Worth is also handing out water.

Warming Centers

There are a number of them across North Texas. From YMCA, Salvation Army, Kay Bailey Convention Center and many churches. Many are open during the day. Great place to warm up and even stop in if you need to charge your phone.
