Hey, it's Jeremy!
I realize as I am typing this message how blessed I am to even write these words....
I have a GREAT grandmother!!!! It's hard to believe it but I am fortunate enough to watch MY mom watch HER mom celebrate HER mom! My sweet Mamaw turns 102 today, and I am convinced at 38 years old there is nothing else life can gift me that means more than knowing this strong woman. She was born in 1916, and boy does she have some stories to tell. I love strong woman. I have several in my life and in my family, but this woman is one of the toughest. She taught me to have a strong work ethic and to be kind, but to not to take any "guff" from anyone. My Mamaw lost her first husband and soul mate in 1983. To this day I can't imagine the loss of such love they had for one another. They were married almost 50 years. That generation is not very demonstrative, but I have always known she loves me.
She used to introduce me to all of her friends as "the radio man". I knew just by watching as she explained I talk on the radio she was proud. That is still one of my favorite memories. I don't know how I got to be so blessed, but I am so thankful for family. I am so thankful to God for this woman and our relationship. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for giving my sweet mamaw some love. This "radio man" is getting to live his dream, and I can only pray I am as blessed to LIVE a life like mamaw is today at 102!
Happy Birthday, Mamaw. I love you so much!
