Carrollton Celebrates May the 4th with Star Wars Event Downtown
In a galaxy not so far away, Downtown Carrollton will honor Star Wars Day with a free themed event on Friday, May 4 from 6-9 p.m. on the Square (1106 S. Broadway Street).
Bring your lightsabers and come in costume to enjoy Star Wars-themed booths, face painting, games, and photo opportunities. “May the 4th Be With You” is sure to satisfy any super fans of the film!
Two free screenings of a Star Wars movie will be shown inside the Plaza Arts Center. An early showing is scheduled for 5 p.m. and the main showing will be at 8 p.m. Seating is limited to 300 people for each screening, so guests are encouraged to arrive early.
Feel the Force and test your skills in an extreme 35-foot interactive laser tag arena. This fully-enclosed, inflatable adventure features four doors, one large central room, and 22 smaller rooms to hone the skills of any young padawan apprentice and challenge the strengths of an accomplished jedi master.
The Carrollton Public Library booth will have green screen backgrounds for Star Wars-themed photos and information on the Summer Reading Program: Libraries Rock! running from June 7 through August 16.
Come early to pick up snacks or dinner from one of the many Downtown shops or restaurants. Work up an appetite and try one of the food trucks before saving the galaxy from the evil empire.
