A couple stopped for a quick bite at Wendy’s and it nearly cost them $1,500. Francis and Peggy Humanick accidentally left a purse containing that much cash hanging on the back of a chair in the restaurant when they left.
They were all the way back at their home before they realized the mistake. The couple canceled their credit cards before finding out the purse had been recovered by 19-year-old busboy Matt Cureton, who found the purse while cleaning up their table.
The Humanicks drove the 80 miles back to Fort Pierce to get the money and insisted on giving Cureton a reward. Peggy hugged the teen and told him he did the right thing and she insisted he take a $100 reward.
