Things are not looking good for 1970s teen superstar David Cassidy. The 67-year-old singer is currently hospitalized in Florida in critical condition, suffering from complete organ failure. Turns out, he’s been hospitalized since Wednesday, and at one point, was put in a medically induced coma.
“He is in the hospital suffering from liver and kidney failure,” Jo-Ann Geffen, Cassidy’s spokeswoman, says. “He is conscious and surrounded by family.”
According to TMZ, Cassidy is in need of a liver transplant and his health is deteriorating and he’s currently in ICU. The site claims he’s taken a turn for the worse, and his family is preparing for the worst. One source notes, “there’s really no issue anymore for a transplant. It’s futile.”
