How Old Is Too Old To Trick Or Treat?

A lot of kids will be getting their best costume on tonight and heading out the door for some trick or treating, but while it’s totally cute to see little kids ring your doorbell for candy, some folks may frown upon seeing older kids when they open the door. So, how old is too old for kids to be trick or treating?

Well, in case you missed it, that’s the exact question one woman posed to the mommy site Mumsnet and she got a variety of responses. The woman in question explained that her 15-year-old daughter and a group of friends planned to go out trick or treating, noting, “I’ve said to her I think she’s too old but she would be missing out on a chance to socialize with her (very sensible) friends. I suppose this is sort of a wwyd?"

As you can imagine, plenty of people had no problem chiming in with their own opinion, with the majority of folks believing that 15 is indeed too old to be knocking on doors begging for candy. 'It's for the younger children around here,” one person wrote. “I don't know what teens get out of it, they would be better off having a Halloween party than knocking on people's doors for sweets at that age.
