Justin Timberlake is set to headline the Pepsi Super Bowl 52 Halftime show, and he promises nothing scandalous will happen during his performance.
When asked about the infamous Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction during his 2004 appearance, Justin told NBC's "Sunday Night Football" anchor Mike Tirico, "That won't happen this time.” "What I really want to do is take the opportunity to put together a performance that feels like it unifies," J.T. says. "I feel like that would be the ultimate accomplishment, and then the icing on the cake is at some point — within that 12 minutes — that everybody is shaking their booty."
And speaking of Janet, some of her fans weren’t too happy with the announcement that Justin will be the halftime performer, especially since many were under the impression that Janet got banned from the Super Bowl because of the wardrobe malfunction incident. Many took to social media to voice their displeasure, but it turns out they were misinformed about Janet’s status. An NFL spokesperson insists to TMZ, "there’s no ban” when it comes to Janet. As for whether she’d turn up during Justin’s performance, the rep would only say, “We are not going to comment on any speculation regarding potential guests. There may be no guests."
