Should Golden State Leadership Allow Them To Skip White House?

2017 NBA Finals - Game Five

Newly-crowned NBA champions the Golden State Warriors are preparing to 'make a political statement' by refusing an invitation to the White House to visit President Donald Trump.

The Oakland-based basketball team, led by head coach Steve Kerr, decided immediately after Trump's election on November 9th that it would shun the new president if it won the NBA championship.

Multiple sources told the network that while Kerr made his feelings known at the time, there is no reason to believe that he’s had a change of heart since then.

Still, the Warriors released a statement yesterday saying no decision has been made regarding a potential White House visit to celebrate their NBA title simply saying “today is all about celebrating our championship” and that they have not received an invitation to the White House.

Yup.

And until they get it, they can’t decline it.
