Super Sam Is In The Biggest Battle Of His Life

Last year Sam’s parents, realized something was very wrong after several trips to the doctor, Sam, who is now 4 years old, was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a very rare form of cancer that occurs mainly in children under the age of 5 and attacks developing nerve cells.

Sam and his family went through round after round of chemotherapy, they began to see light at the end of the tunnel, and felt that they were getting ahead of cancer. But sadly In March of this year, doctors told Sam’s parents that the cancer was back.

The family is now treating Sam’s diagnosis as a high-risk form of Neuroblastoma, which means more intense treatments and medicine and therefore harsher side effects. When we, the Star 102.1 team, heard about this we really wanted to do something to help distract Sam.

So we reached out to Sam’s parents and found out the Sam loves LEGOS! His parents say it is one on the only things that keeps him still when doing dialyzes. We reached out to Northpark Center’s Lego store and got Sam hooked up. Lego is donating seven different boxes of Legos to Sam.
