The hard-working employees at the Manchester Evening News were treated to a free meal by some fellow journalists from across the pond, who know how tough it is to work long hours to cover a tragedy like Monday’s terror attack. The Boston Globe sent them pizzas in a gesture of solidarity while they’re working long hours covering the story.
The English journalists expressed their thanks to The Boston Globe on Twitter, “The Boston Globe sent us pizza to keep us going. Thanks friends,” the media outlet tweeted.
The gesture was praised by other journalists and readers on social media. “This is what really sustains great journalism,” tweeted London School of Economics Media Professor Charlie Beckett. “Keep up the great work!”
