Ed Sheeran Breaks 22-Year Australian Chart Record

Ed Sheeran has set a new record Down Under. Ed’s “Shape Of You” is at number one on the ARIA Singles chart for a 14th week, the longest chart-topping streak for an artist in 22 years. Before now, Coolio held the record for the most weeks at number one with “Gangster’s Paradise,” which reigned on the chart for 13 weeks back in 1995.

Ed also retains the top spot on the ARIA Album’s chart, holding off Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN,” to lock in a seventh week at number one for his album “Divide.”

  • ONE MORE THING! Ed is denying a UK tabloid report that claims he’s planning a long career break once his tour is over in October. The “Daily Star” quoted a source who says Ed’s looking to have a more “normal life,” with a wife and kids, adding, “if that means going AWOL for years then so be it." But Ed is calling the whole thing bogus. When MTV UK shared a link to the story he responded, “Das (that's) B**locks.”
