Dallas Mavericks great Dirk Nowitzki was celebrated when the Mavs retired his jersey in a ceremony the other night. It was an emotional event for not only a great player but a great person. But it was the unveiling of the "Dirk" statue that has people talking. The statue shows Dirk mid-air shooting a basketball or should I saw balls toward an invisible hoop.
