Former Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins' appeal to reduce the length of his prison sentence has been thrown out by judges in Wales.

The rocker was sentenced to 29 years behind bars plus six years on parole after pleading guilty to multiple child sex offenses back in December.  BBC News says Watkins' lawyer argued that the sentence was too high.  But on Wednesday, the appeals judges said that Watkins' crimes were "of such shocking depravity that they demanded a lengthy sentence."

The rest of Lostprophets, meanwhile, have teamed up with former Thursday frontman Geoff Rickly to form a new band called No Devotion.  They released their debut single "Stay" earlier this month, and are reportedly working on a full album.
